CUSTOMER SERVICE / RECEPTIONIST

Hello! My name is Lena Hittle, and I am a receptionist at PetWorks Veterinary Hospital.

I have loved animals my entire life. I grew up with all kinds of animals from hamsters, mice, birds, and bunnies, to dogs and cats. My love for animals became a passion as I got older. I have worked in many different facets of the animal industry. I ran the lagest doggy daycare facility in Kansas City for many years. I then moved on to an Animal Hospital.

While I worked there, I took on a second job at a local shelter that doubled as a doggy daycare. I then moved on from both of those positions to a different animal rescue called Chain of Hope. There, I did a lot more community work, working right along side Pet Resource Center and Animal Control to save animals from awful situations. We would rehabilitate them, and find them loving and safe forever homes. Over all, working with animals has brought me such joy!

Over the years I have enjoyed being a foster parent to many animals as well. Providing them with a safe place to rest while waiting for their forever home. (However, I did have a lot of “foster fails” along the way that never left our loving home)

As of now, I work at PetWorks part time, and my hobbies outside of PetWorks include volunteering at shelters, reading, swimming, collecting crystals, and hanging out with/caring for my family. I have a 9 year old son, a boyfriend of 4 years, as well as my fur babies. 4 dogs, and 5 cats.

I love my job, and am so happy to be the newest addition to PetWorks! I cannot wait to see where this next chapter in life will take me.
